Today I received the following e-mail from someone who shall remain nameless:

"Im using your dinksdx-blue skin for windwowsblinds and i think it is really awful.
i love the tab with the controlls for winamp. the buttons for next song etc are working, but it doesn't display the title of the song which is playing. did i overread something i have to do to activate them?"

I answered his question regardless of his bad manners, but I'm amazed that people like this are out there. What can the logic be in insulting someone's hard work and then asking for help in using it? >

For those people who are having this problem, make sure you have at least version 4.00c of WindowBlinds.

I just realized something. Maybe he meant aweful and not awful.

Sorry, Jafo, but I didn't post it here to spotlight the work but the comments. In the past I've seen links posted on the messageboard to draw attention to comments for clean up purposes. (Although you have a lighter hand than I would have used in that case.)

Very true Jafo, very true.

I shouldn't have cross posted here either I am guessing, for sanities sake at least. I won't again for sure.

The game part seems very head on with that particular submission, as far as being cracked up went. It was based on a few of the point's you've made.

1, Language
2, Lack of point in it because it holds nothing of value as a critique.

That is what hit me as odd and cracked me up, not funny *ha,ha* but cynical kind of *yep*.

Also, at what point does "taking someone down a notch" become kicking their feet out from under them. That was what had me baffeled a while back at the end of the week on this thread.

anyway, I do apologise for my digression in cross posting and I also agree with all of the points you've made and many of those you, others or I haven't in this thread.

Well Akasha just learned something....

I read the comments on that link, and I have this to say, my 'theory' obviously has loop holes. I am woman enough to admit it. I guess one theory can't apply to EVERY rule, I still stand by my theory, however I guess the loophole is in a case such as this skin that was mentioned on the previous page. I personally couldn't have said MOST of the those mean comments, no matter what. SSSSOOOO... I guess my theory is good for those artists that have been around a block or two and 'need' the humbling. For someone like this poor guy/gal that did the best they could with what they had, I would have to say this person needed NO humbling by any means and actually quite the opposite they needed the encouragement to keep plugging away until they get better.

With that said--I will admit there's a loophole to my beliefs. I still stand by what I believe but I guess it can't apply to ALL situations, it can only be regarded towards seasoned artists. So there's a flaw to my theory...there I said it, I admit...
